Vipers SC v Olympic Real De Bangui
St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende
Vipers SC head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho was in full-praise mood following our superb 3-0 win over Olympic Real De Bangui on Saturday.
The Venoms thrashed their opponents away, at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat, with Abdu Lumala, Najib Yiga and Isa Mubiru on target.
“After a difficult first half from my team, the second was brilliant and we managed to score two great goals,” said our tactician.
“We introduced Abdu Lumala after 30 minutes and improved on our offensive play, and that was very important. The team played really well.”
Robertinho further showered the day’s goal-scorers and our new signings in distinguished praise.
“Lumala is a special player, he came on, did well and scored a good goal.”
“Najib Yiga gave our strikers valuable support and he as well scored the second goal. He has the Vipers mentality,” added the honest and joyous tactician.
The Brazilian also garnered praise to the other new recruits for debut performances to remember.
“I’m happy for all our new players. They played really well, with Isa Mubiru scoring a good goal.”
The Venoms are slated to depart Congo Brazaville on Monday afternoon, to further train ahead of the second leg, bound for Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The victor on aggregate will take on TP Mazembe in the competition’s first round.
