Olympic Real De Bangui v Vipers SC
Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat
Ahead of our CAF Champions League Preliminary round first leg against Olympic Real De Bangui, assistant coach, Marcelo Cardoso has expressed optimism of picking a positive result.
The Venoms are visitors in Congo Brazaville to take on the Central African Republican side, at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat on Saturday.

“The results we picked during our preparations showed clearly the level of Vipers at the moment,” Cardoso told the Venoms Media.
“We are ready to give a good performance as we want to attain a great result,” added the experienced tactician.

In a more honest assessment of our opponents, Cardoso revealed that Vipers knows little about them, but it has only helped the Venoms prepare even better.
“Less is more. But the fact is we know little about our opponents. We have little information and no videos but we have heard that they have changed a lot recently,” analysed Cardoso.
“We will use the little information we have. We are also happy that we have the technical know how to read them and adapt quickly,” with a tone of brash, added Cardoso.

“We have built a strong team for more than a year and the building will continue because we lost a few important players and have only replaced them recently.”
The Portuguese gave an insight on the readiness of the newly acquired Venoms.
“The new players that arrived are doing extremely well but like always, there is room for improvement.”

“We are looking forward to qualifying to the next round and that’s the most important thing for everyone involved.”
The second leg is slated for Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende with the winner on aggregate progressing to the next round.
Team News:
The Venoms’ will miss the services of forward Yunus Sentamu who didn’t travel after contracting malaria last week.
