Vipers Sports Club can confirm forward Cesar Manzoki has completed a move to Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Pro FC. 

The lanky forward that goes by the moniker Emperor joined the Venoms at the start of the 2020/21 campaign and went on to become an instant hit as he immediately became a core squad member and forthwith a darling of the fans.

Despite facing a number of injury setbacks in the first season, Manzoki racked up 27 appearances across all competitions and finished with 14 goals. 

Contributions tally

He managed seven strikes in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) while he assisted on six occasions.  He added seven goals in the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup, a trophy he won as the competition’s top net-burster to take home the Golden Boot.

The marksman’s second season was even more productive as Manzoki featured in 29 games, across all competitions. 

That term accounted for a fruitful return of 18 goals in the SUPL including nine assists to take his direct goal-involvement tally to 27 for the previous season. 

Overall, the Central African Republic (CAR) striker played 56 games, scored 32 goals and was the architect on 15 occasions – a recommendable 47 goal involvements.

Personal achievements

Manzoki’s superb 2022/23 season was rewarded with the SUPL title – Vipers’ fifth and second in three campaigns. 

Manzoki was named SUPL Top Scorer (18 goals), Player of the Season, Playmaker of the Season, Forward of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and was named in Team of the Season, surely a season to remember.

Before joining Vipers, Manzoki was at AS Vita (DRC) where he scored 34 times and added 18 assists over two seasons in 2018 and 2019 respectively. 

He did the same between 2012 and 2017 in his breakthrough years at AS Dauphin Noirs (DRC), where he was top-scorer three times, and the club’s best player once.

Special salutations

In his farewell message, Manzoki has paid homage to Club Director, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, and the entire Venoms nation. 

“Dear Venoms, it’s difficult for me to find the right words to say good bye. I will forever cherish the beautiful moments and success during my two years,” read a bit of his message on the socials. 

“From the bottom of my heart thank you dad Lawrence Mulindwa, teammates, management, fans and the media.”

Manzoki leaves the St. Mary’s Kitende stable as a top professional, admirable character and a club great for years to come.
