Friendly Match
Vipers SC 1-0 Kkobe Clan
We picked up a 1-0 victory over Kkobe Clan in a Pre-season friendly match on Friday, at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Defender Hillary Mukundane’s first half strike was just enough to see off Kkobe, as we continue to thorough our preparations for the forthcoming 2022/23 campaign.

The Venoms started off in high gear and nearly broke the deadlock in the 10th minute but, Cesar Manzoki’s bicycle-kick was superbly dealt with by goalkeeper Masrour Mutumba.
Four minutes later, Mukundane scored the opener with a tap-in, after some defensive mix-up in the Kkobe box.

Frank Zaga Tumwesigye nearly doubled our lead in the 21st minute, but his stinging shot from outside the box was brilliantly punched clear by Mutumba.
In the 34th minute, Zaga threatened again, but his header off Ashraf Mandela’s freekick sailed inches over the bar.

The Venoms continued to probe for a second and should have got it, but Milton Karisa missed a great chance created by Mandela.
We opened the second half in similar fashion, with utmost dominance and almost grabbed a second in the 51st minute, but Mandela’s surging ball did not meet any Venom shirt, as the chance went begging.

Mandela, in the 53rd minute, yet again created another clear-cut goal-scoring opportunity, this time to Manzoki, but the Emperor was denied by Kkobe’s substitute custodian Joseph Ssebuliba.
Ssebuliba was yet again called into action, this time denying Mandela’s stinging shot. The newcomer put up a Man of the Match performance on the evening.

The result implies we have won each of our two matches in the Pre-season.
