The Contest: Mbarara City vs. Vipers SC

The Time: 3pm (Live on Fufa TV)

The Venue: Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara

After clinching a fifth StarTimes Uganda Premier League title with games to spare, Vipers SC will attempt to give a memorable season a fitting climax.

The Venoms travel to Mbarara on Tuesday to face Mbarara City at Kakyeka stadium in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The second leg will be at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, seven days after the first encounter with coach Roberto Oliviera’s side seeking to win a first league and cup double.

“Mbarara City is a strong team which is always hard to pick results from their home. I’ll base on my team’s experience to get results from them & seal the business at Kitende. Our target is reaching the final and win the trophy.” said Robertinho.

Mbarara have had a tough season and were relegated from the top tier to the Fufa Big League this week but remain a force to reckon with.

The Venoms eliminated Kigezi HomeBoyz FC (1-0), Kalongo United FC (3-1), Kataka FC (3-0) and Wakiso Giants FC (3-1) enroute to the semi-finals.

Team News:

Disan Galiwango is back in the 18-man squad after missing Saturday’s game against SC Villa through suspension having accumulated three yellow cards.

Hilary Mukundane is cap-tied having played for Mbarara City FC in the round of 64 before making his transfer to join the Kitende based side in the January transfer window.

Apart from the longer term injuries, they are all in. No Ibrahim Orit, No Fabien Mutombora – the rest are available. A big squad of 18 players are available to face Mbarara City FC.
