STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

Match: URA FC v Vipers SC
Date: April 12th, 2022
Time: 4pm | Live On Sanyuka TV
Venue: Arena of Visions
Ndejje

Vipers SC will be looking to step on the gas to cement their position at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League when they visit ‘bogey side’ URA FC away at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje on Tuesday.

Vipers have beaten URA FC thrice in 16 meetings and this underlines the enormity of the task for coach Roberto Oliviera.

The Venoms could have a seven-point lead at kick off over title rivals KCCA FC depending on the latter’s result against Arua Hill SC on Monday. The Venoms are on 52, with KCCA on 45.

Vipers SC and URA FC will be meeting for the 35th time in Uganda’s league history since 2006 when the Venoms joined the top flight division. We have won 6, drawn 12 and lost 16 with a return of 34 goals against 39.

Head-To-Head:

Meetings: 34
Vipers wins: 6
Draws: 12
Losses: 16
Goals for: 29
Against: 39
Points: 29

Out of the 16 meetings between the two teams at the tax collectors home, the Venoms have registered 3 wins only, 8 draws and 5 losses scoring a meagre 16 goals as well as conceding 20 in the process.

The corresponding encounter at the Arena of Visions last season, ended in a 2-1 defeat when Shafik Kagimu and Steven Mukwala scored for the tax collectors while the Venoms consolation came through Cesar Manzoki.

Vipers first ever victory over URA occurred on 28th April 2011 in a 2-1 win after 11 fruitless attempts and URA has gone on to dominate the fixture up to date hence the Venoms have a huge task at hand.

In the previous 6 matches hosted by URA FC, the four time league champions command only 1 win, 2 draws with 3 losses scoring 9 goals against 12.

Last 6 meetings away at URA FC

2015/16: URA 3-2 Vipers

2016/17: URA 1-1 Vipers

2017/18: URA 0-1 Vipers

2018/19: URA 1-1 Vipers

2019/20: URA 3-1 Vipers

2020/21: URA 2-1 Vipers

Of all the 16 teams playing in Uganda’s top flight division currently, its only URA which holds a better head to head against the Venoms as they always inflict misery on us irrespective of any form they might be in.

Vipers secured a crucial victory in the last fixture against Mbarara City FC at Kitende while URA FC lost to BUL FC at the Kyabazinga stadium, Bugembe.

Team News:

Head Coach Robertinho has reported no fresh injury concerns following last week’s game against Mbarara City FC.
