BUL FC 1-3 Vipers SC
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) leaders Vipers SC came from a goal down to dispatch BUL 3-1 at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe in Jinja.
Victory meant that Vipers stay top of the standings on 36 points, just one ahead of KCCA FC, having played 16 matches apiece.
A Najib Yiga brace and a late strike from Yunus Sentamu ensured we leave Bugembe with maximum points.
After a cagey start to the game by both sides, the hosts drew first blood through Walter Ochora’s well-timed header past goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora after a 20th-minute corner kick.
It did not take long for the Venoms to level matters through Yiga’s brilliant shot from outside the box in the 22nd minute after a wonderful assist from Milton Karisa.
The Venoms should have made it two at 32 minutes, but Cesar Manzoki missed a sitter after being found by a good Karisa pass.
A minute later, following a Bright Anukani corner, Manzoki turned provider to Yiga to make it 2-1 and complete a personal brace.
Ten minutes into the second half, Manzoki should have extended the lead after a superb ball from Karisa, but custodian Emmanuel Kalyowa did well with a timely block.
At 74 minutes, the home team almost grabbed an equalizer through Ibrahim Nsimbe, only for Livingstone Mulondo to make a superb interception.
A minute to the end, Yunus Sentamu added a third, superbly tucking in a good ball from Denis Mwemezi.
