Wednesday’s Result
Vipers SC 3-0 SC Villa
We went top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table following a resounding 3-0 victory over SC Villa at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende this evening.
Striker Caesar Manzoki helped himself to a double while Yunus Sentamu scored the other goal as we leapfrogged KCCA FC to the summit.
We now have 33 points from 15 matches, while KCCA FC – who have played a game fewer – are two marks behind. The day’s victims, Villa, are miles away in 11th with 16 points from 15 games.
The Venoms took the lead as early as six minutes when Sentamu grabbed his eighth goal of the season but it remained tight until the half time break.
Our persistent probe yielded more results when Manzoki made it 2-0 just after the hour. He got booked for celebrating this infront of the visiting fans but the striker cared less, plundering Vipers third and his 10th of the season on 67 minutes.
Having ended the first round on a high, we will open the second half of the season with a trip to the East to take on Jinja based side, BUL FC on February 9.
