Arua Hill SC 1-0 Vipers SC
Arua Hill SC shocked Uganda Premier League leaders, Vipers SC as they beat them 1-0 at the Barifa Stadium on Tuesday.
Alfred Leku scored to condemn the Venoms to their second loss of the campaign.
The hosts broke the deadlock as early as the 10th minute when forward Leku powered in a thunderous header from a Rashid Muhammad corner.
Four minutes to half time, Sentamu met a good Bright Anukani pass but could not find the target with his shot, to cap off a frustrating 45 minutes.
The second half was even more infuriating for the guests who struggled to master clearcut goal scoring opportunities.
There were however half chances with which they could have capitalized for a goal but could not make it happen.
Karisa’s brilliant cross at the hour-mark destined for an unmarked Cesar Manzoki was blocked superbly by Bright Vuni.
In the 75th minute, Bobosi Byaruhanga, in trademark fashion, hit one from distance but could not find the target this time round.
Halid Lwalilwa rose highest in the 81st minute to meet a Dissan Galiwango corner but could not find the target too.
Despite the loss, Vipers have stayed top of the 16 team log with 29 points after 13 points. They will host BUL FC in their next match on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
