Vipers SC 7-2 UPDF FC

Vipers SC ascended to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table after humbling army side UPDF FC 7-2 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Monday.

To move top, KCCA FC who held the helm prior to the evening, drew 2-2 with Onduparaka FC at the Greenlight Stadium in a game that was interrupted due to fans invasion at the death. The game was called off with a few minutes to go.

The Venoms broke the deadlock as early as the fifth minute when our shirt nine, Cesar Manzoki nodded in from a beautiful Bright Anukani freekick.

Milton Karisa then added a second, two minutes later after a superb individual work off the right.

Karisa then turned provider for the third, squaring in for Anukani to hit a powerful shot for the third at 19 minutes.

At the half hour mark, Yunus Sentamu tapped home the fourth after great movement by Aziz Kayondo down the left.

At the 36th minute, our Congolese magnifico, Manzoki powered in a thumping header for the fifth from Karisa’s second assist of the day.

The first half party was not about to end as youngster and debutant Emmanuel Munoobi scored his first Vipers goal, off a 41st minute penalty spot.

The visitors returned after half time energized and scored their first in the 51st minute through Sabir Yasir.

In the 66th minute, Salim Hood added a second for the army boys for some lifeline.

Male Player of the Year, Bobosi Byaruhanga, in trademark fashion, added a seventh off a thunderbolt from about 25 yards.

Following the victory and KCCA’s interrupted game with Onduparaka, Vipers are top of the table with 29 points and will visit Arua Hill next on January 4th.
