STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

The Date: November 19, 2021

The Contest: Mbarara City vs. Vipers SC

The Time: 3:00pm

The Venue: Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara

There could have been many moments last season when Vipers SC had the chance to pull away in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Among the most notable was the home and away losses to Mbarara City FC. They won 1-0 at home and 3-2 at St Mary’s Kitende.

Vipers will have a score to settle when The Venoms visit Kakyeka Stadium tomorrow (November 19) as the league resumes after the international break.

It’s a venue where our last victory came in the 2017/18 season, a 1-0 result, a repeat of which will definitely silence the hosts.

Field battles between the two teams started way back in the 2017/18 football season when the Ankole Lions gained promotion to the topflight league and this fixture thus marks the 7th meeting they are facing off.

Vipers commands numerical superiority over their distant opponents with 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses out of the previous 8 meetings having scored 8 goals against 7 conceded in the previous contests.

Head-To Head

Meetings: 8

Vipers wins: 3

Draws: 3

Losses: 2

Goals for: 8

Goals against: 7

Points: 12

The Venoms conceded their first goal and loss on the road against the Ankole lions last season when Henry Kitegenyi scored the only goal to separate the two side hence we will be out to seek for revenge.

5 games.

In their last fixtures before the international break, Vipers overcame hard fighting Onduparaka FC 1-0 at St Mary’s stadium while Mbarara City FC lost 1-0 to UPDF FC.
