Vipers 5-0 Wakiso Giants FC

Man Of Match: Bobosi Byaruhanga.

A Yunus Sentamu haul and a goal from Cesar Manzoki spurred us to our second successive victory in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) match played on Friday at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

The 5-0 win over Wakiso Giants, who have now lost their second successive match, comes on the back of Vipers SC 2-0 opening weekend victory over Police FC.

Coach Robertinho Oliveira’s Venoms now top the standings on six points after two matches.

Coach Douglas Bamweyana’s Wakiso sit at the bottom of the 16-team log having lost their first two games by an 8-0 score aggregate.

Wakiso Giants went behind as early as the 13th minute when Sentamu opened his season account.

Manzoki, scoring his second in as many games, made it 2-0 after he pounced on a rebound to head home two minutes later.

Sentamu then made it 3-0 for Vipers on 23 minutes, dispatching home the rebound after Milton Karisa’s effort had come off the bar.

Vipers were clearly on rampage here, forcing several Wakiso players to go into the referee’s book in quick succession.

Wakiso’s George Kaddu was then sent off after a second bookable offence, but it is his after conduct that will bring him trouble.

After being shown the red card, Kaddu slapped the card from the referee’s hands and the pack of them flew out to the ground before the disgraced player’s colleagues pulled him away.

With Wakiso going to the half time break a man down, it will as always going to be a tall hill to climb in the next 45 minutes.

Indeed, they were soon 4-0 down when Sentamu completed his hattrick, finishing off good work from left back Aziz Kayondo on 61 minutes.

You would think Sentamu was done. Not with the shambolic display the Purple Sharks were also exhibiting here.

The striker cared less, grabbing his fourth and Vipers fifth of the afternoon on 69 minutes as the Venoms maximized on their numerical advantage.

Vipers have now scored seven goals in two matches, and although it’s early days, their forward potency will have surely sent the message across.

Vipers SC Starting XI: Fabien Mutombora, Paul Willa, Aziz Kayondo, Livingstone Mulondo, Bashir Asiku, Siraje Sentamu, Bright Anukani, Bobosi Byaruhanga, Cesar Manzoki, Yunus Sentamu, Milton Karisa.
