Vipers Sports Club has eight of it’s players among the provisional 31 man squad named by Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho set for a training camp in Jordan, International friendlies match against Ethiopia and Syria and the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya.

The squad comprises of mainly local based players and a few foreign based but still in Uganda.

Venoms captain and defender Halid Lwaliwa who had been a in the set up a couple of times made the list, Paul Willa, Ibrahim Orit, Milton Karisa, Yunus Sentamu and the U-23 Hippos trio of Aziz Kayondo, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Richard Byaruhanga.

The Uganda Cranes will be aiming to make it to their ever first world cup finals when they face Mali, Kenya and Rwanda in the qualifiers.

They are expected to begin training next week on Monday. However prior to that, the Cranes will undergo a mandatory Covid 19 tests on Saturday before entering residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel.

The final Squad for the matches against Kenya and Mali will be named after the camp in Ethiopia.

Uganda is in Group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers alongside Kenya, Rwanda and Mali.
