Vipers SC welcome SC Villa yet again at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende on Tuesday hoping to reach the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
This is the first leg of what is anticipated to be an exciting encounter as the two sides meet for the third time this season, though the home side are in pursuit of winning a double for the first time in their history. The return leg will be played next month on June 2, 2021 away at the military grounds in Bombo.

The Venoms are third on the league table, two points behind log leaders Express FC and will be heavy favourites to progress, with the Joogos down in eighth position.
But league form can often be disregarded in cup competitions and Vipers have dominated most of their games in this competition so far and can hope to do the same against SC Villa just like they eliminated Busoga United and UPDF FC enroute to the quarterfinals.

The two sides met earlier this month in the league with the Venoms winning 3-1 in Bombo following an aggressive performance that saw Bobosi Byaruhanga, Yunus Sentamu and Paul Mucureezi find the back of the net.
However, the first leg performance is what will be very important for Fred Kajoba’s side if they are to advance to the semis.

“We believe tomorrow’s match is very vital as we must return to our winning ways at home and also have an opportunity to go further. The last games here have been a disappointment but we have to go out with the right attitude and play like its the last match,” Fred Kajoba emphasised.
Meanwhile the Joogos’ spirit are high after returning to winning ways against Kyetume FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last week thus will be keen to pick a second straight win. The hosts must win with a decent goal margin to make their work easier in the return leg.
