Vipers SC could complete a double over rivals SC Villa when the two meet in what is expected to be an epic game in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Saturday at the military playgrounds in Bombo.

The corresponding fixture at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende ended 3-0 in favour of the Venoms thanks to Dan Sserunkuma, Yunus Sentamu and Paul Willa’s goals.

Vipers comes into this encounter off a 1-1 stalemate with fellow title contenders URA FC on Wednesday and kept the pressure on the tax collectors who lead the table by just a single point.

The Kajoba-coached side has played three league matches at Kitende minus a win however, their display on the road has been superb since the their 2-1 defeat to URA FC in March away in Ndejje.

They have since gone ahead to defeat MYDA FC, UPDF FC, Kitara FC and recently KCCA FC away in Lugogo and will be optimistic heading into their clash with the Jogoos.

Meanwhile the Jogoos have proved to be a hard nut to crack at home and not of the top four teams has beaten them in Bombo therefore Fred Kajoba must make sure he breaks the hosts’ record.

They beat KCCA 2-1 before holding both URA FC and Express FC to barren stalemates.

Edward Kaziba’s side recent form in the last five games has been poor, they have not registered any win in the league thus Vipers will provide a litmus test.

“The race is getting tougher as we edge closer to the end thus maximum concentration and teamwork matter a lot in the remaining games,” explained Kajoba.

“We are set for this game and want to go out and fight harder than we did in the last match.”

Team News:

Former Vipers junior team forwards Muhammad Nsereko and Muhammed ‘Kagawa’ Senoga if selected to play for the Jogoos will face Vipers for the first time.
The former missed the first leg through injury.

Dan Sserunkuma who scored the opener in Vipers 3-0 victory at the St Mary’s stadium is still out recovering from a thigh injury.

Denis Kiggundu is also out with a knock, therefore Fabien Mutombora and Bashir Sekagya are the available goal keepers who will travel to Bombo.
