Cesar Manzoki’s double and Ibrahim Orit’s strike handed Vipers SC a fine 3-0 Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 first leg win over Busoga United at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Monday.
The Venoms will therefore travel to Njeru on Friday hoping to replicate their success in the first leg and advance to the round of 16.
Fred Kajoba’s side had its Uganda Cup journey cut ruined by minnows Kajjansi United at this level last season and the head coach has made it clear to his players that they have to win and keep their target of winning a double alive.
“We must play better than we did at home,” Kajoba said.
“It’s the second leg of a knock out tie that will give us the chance to progress further. It’s an objective that we want to achieve this season.”
“It will be a difficult match despite Busoga United losing in Kitende, it does not mean that everything is done and dusted. There is quite some work for us to accomplish. We will need to go out there with the right attitude,” Kajoba added.
A draw will do for Vipers to progress to the next round where we shall wait for draws to be held to determine our next opponent.
Team News:
David Bagoole is out with a bout hence will not travel to face his former team. The midfielder came off the bench in the 3-0 home win.
