Four Vipers SC players were in action as the U20 Hippos team beat Tunisia 4-1 in the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations U-20 and Richard Basangwa stole the show!
The Venoms forward, alongside Najib Yiga, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Aziz Kayondo were named in the Hippos’ starting XI once again and he scored a sensational goal in the 4th minute before claiming an assist later when he teed up Derrick Kakooza who doubled the lead 33 minutes later.

Kakooza completed his hat trick adding his second and third goal in the 50th and 73rd minutes respectively to give Uganda a deserved win.
Meanwhile,Tunisia got their only goal through Adam Ben Lamin.
After resumption of the second half, Hippos coach Morley Byekwaso was forced to make a change replacing injured Najib Yiga with Ivan Bogere but the youngsters continued to show an admirable spirit going forward and also defending in numbers to make sure the Tunisians did no further harm.

Yiga had previously started on the bench against Mauritania and Burkina Faso with another Venom Ivan Asaba playing ahead of him.
