STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

Match: Vipers SC v Police FC

Date: February 19, 2021

Time: 4pm

Venue: St Mary’s Stadium

Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba has rallied his charges ahead of their StarTimes Uganda Premier League match against Police FC on Friday, February 19 at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The gaffer stated, “we have a balanced squad full of quality and depth to compete in the league. I equally demand the best from them and consistency.

“A win will encourage and push us forward going into subsequent fixtures.”

This encounter versus the Cops will serve as a valuable opportunity to regain the table summit. The Venoms were dislodged following their 2-all stalemate with Kyetume FC earlier on Tuesday.

Abdallah Mubiru’s side are leading with 16 points thanks to a convincing 2-0 victory over BUL FC.
Kajoba has challenged his players to approach this game differently.

“We play a side that’s credible thus I demand hard work, responsibility and positivity from whoever will be put on the pitch on Friday,” Kajoba noted.

The result away in Njeru earlier in the week left him quite disappointed but he believes his side is in a good mood to face their opponents whatsoever.

Despite the Cops’ fine form coming to Kitende, they know the task will not be an easy one bearing in mind that they have not picked even a single point from the St Mary’s stadium in their previous visits.

Team News:

Milton Karisa is back in training having missed the past matches through a thigh problem he picked while on National duty with the Uganda Cranes in Cameroon.

Siraje Sentamu overcame a slight knock and is likely to be selected to start against Police FC. The midfielder was rested during Tuesday’s 2-2 away at Kyetume.

Rashid Toha is out after pulling a muscle against Kyetume therefore Livingstone Mulondo or Bashir Asiku will partner team skipper Halid Lwaliwa.

Muhammad Shaban played well when he came off the bench against the Slaughters thus will have a role to play as well as Dan Sserunkuma.
