Busoga United v Vipers SC

FUFA Technical centre – Njeru

3:30pm ( Live on Sanyuka TV)

Vipers Sports Club return to action this Sunday (December 20, 2020) for a visit to Busoga United at the Fufa technical centre in Njeru.

The Venoms  will be looking to build on their first StarTimes Uganda Premier League win of the season and head coach Fred Kajoba is determined to see the form and resilience which brought victory against Kitara FC earlier in the week continue away from home.

He recognises that it will be far from easy against a team searching for their first win this season.  Busoga United have played four games losing 3 and drawing the other, leaving them 14th on the sixteen team log.

They are a stubborn side and going by their recent results, you may look at them as underdogs but we know what they can be capable of and we don’t intend to leave anything to chance. We hope we can have an improved performance  and get the 3 points because it’s very important for us.”

Head Coach, Fred Kajoba

Vipers will be further buoyed by KCCA FC’s loss to the tax collectors on Friday thus a win will move the visitors to 6th spot on the table with 7 points and 4 behind URA FC with two games in hand.

The trip to Jinja has always been unpredictable with past meetings being very close contests and Sunday’s clash with Busoga United is expected to be a feisty one on the field and should be one to watch.

Fred Kajoba has better news this time around following the return of most of his players to the squad.

Team News:

Team skipper Halid Lwaliwa is back and will make the match day squad. The defender has not played since featuring in the 1-0 defeat to Al Hilal at Kitende last month.

Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa and Abraham  Ndugwa are all available. The trio just like Lwaliwa last played last month in the Caf Champions League home tie.

Rashid Toha remains unavailable so are Livingstone Mulondo, Jacob Okao and Ahmed Amayo.
