STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
The Date: December 12, 2020
The Contest: Wakiso Giants vs. Vipers
The Time: 3pm
The Venue: Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakisha

Champions Vipers kickoff the defence of their StarTimes Uganda Premier League title in an exciting clash against Wakiso Giants away at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakisha on Saturday (December 12, 2020)

This will be the third meeting in the topflight since March 2020, and this fixture provides Fred Kajoba’s side with an opportunity to return to winning ways after elimination from the coveted CAF Champions League. The Venoms’ memories of their infamous barren stalemate with the hosts almost nine months ago are still fresh and they will be out to pick maximum points this time around.

Back then on March 6, Gangly forward Fahad Bayo – who was in fine form – was sent for an early shower in the opening half by referee Shamirah Nabadda forcing his side to play the rest of the game with a man less. The former Venoms striker’s dismissal went on to affect his team’s game plan as they settled for a draw.

Apparently, the visitors have already been boosted by the fact their opponent has already dropped points in their last two matches hence effectively providing them a chance to pounce without fear as they chase the early log leaders and title rivals; KCCA FC and UPDF FC.

Despite having some injury setbacks, Kajoba has the solution in depth, strength and good numbers in his squad. He will be keen to unleash his ‘hungry to deliver’ troops against the Purple Sharks.

Team News:

Umar Kyebatala is ruled out with a knee injury while Allan Kayiwa is yet to recover from fever and remains unavailable.

Rashid Toha and Shaban Muhammed are expected to make their full league debuts for Vipers following successful recovery from knee surgeries.

Shaban has not played since joining from Raja Casablanca last August and will be anxious to get into his competitive element.

Bobos Byaruhanga recovered from a minor knock and is also available for duty.

All the new signings who switched to the St Mary’s Stadium in the just concluded transfer window are ready to make their maiden appearance in Vipers colours if selected.
