Vipers SC v Al Hilal Omdurman

St Mary’s stadium | November 28th | 4pm

Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed the match officials that will handle our encounter against Al Hilal Omdurman next weekon Saturday.

Vipers SC will face Sudan’s Al Hilal in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League with the first leg slated for November 28, at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The Caf referees’ appointments committee has selected a quartet of Somalis match officials.

These include Hassan Mohamed Hagi who has been appointed as the centre referee.

Hagi is not new in Uganda having officiated a game between KCCA FC and Rivers United FC of Nigeria.

He will be assisted by fellow countrymen in Hamza Hagi Abdi and Suleiman Bashir Sh. Abdi as the first and second assistant referees respectively.

Omar Abdukadir Artan also from Somalia will be the fourth official while David Gikonyo Mwangi is the Match Commissioner.

The second leg in Sudan’s capital Omdurman is slated for December 6 (on a Sunday).

The winner on aggregate will then face either Nouadhibou of Mauritania or Ghana’s Asante Kotoko.

This is the second time that the Venoms will be facing a Sudanese club.

In our previous continental expedition, we played against Al Merriekh, knocking them out at the preliminary round on a 2-2 aggregate.

The team is currently in serious training ahead of the forthcoming games.
