With former Express FC captain Disan Galiwango and Mbarara City FC’s industrious midfielder Ibrahim Orit already in the Kitende stable, we have gone a notch further by acquiring the services of Jamil Kalisa from Bright Stars.

Kalisa, who had a year left on his previous contract at Bright Stars, has agreed to a four-year deal with the reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions.

His arrival will help coach Fred Kajoba patch up several loop holes within the team as he also strengthens the squad in readiness for the forthcoming season that has already seen pundits predict it as ‘a demanding one’ already.

The upcoming season will mostly be an energy sapping one including battles on the continental front in the CAF Champions League, SUPL, Uganda Cup, Fufa Super 8 and Fufa Super Cup hence the need to reinforce the ranks with talents of Kalisa’s caliber.

Vipers have previously been heavily linked with the player since the untimely end to the 2019/20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic and coach Kajoba will be overjoyed that he has got his man to sign the dotted line.

During his time with Bright Stars, Kalisa was a vital cog within the team set-up, especially last season, as he helped them tostave off the relegation monster after they had punched way below their weight in the first round of the season.

The 21-year-old began his career at the National Sports Academy before Lungujja Galaxy – a Rubaga regional side – spotted him in 2017 enroute to joining Bright Stars at the start of the 2018/19 SUPL term.

Having been with him at the Mwererwe-based club, Kajoba knows the kind of player he is signing and his continued improvement during the second round of the previous season, without doubt caught our eyes.

Many clubs have been eyeing him but the allure of being a Venom bowled him over.
