Vipers 5-0 Maroons: Fred Kajoba’s reaction

Coach Fred Kajoba insisted his charges will focus on achieving what they set when he joined the club after returning back to winning ways with a 5-0 win over Maroons FC.

Allan Kayiwa, Brian Nkuubi, Milton Karisa, Paul Mucureezi and Abraham Ndugwa each scored as the Venoms maintained their four points lead at the top of the Uganda Premier League summit.

Kajoba discussed Vipers performance, the goal galore, the title race and more in his post-match press conference.

Read a transcript of Kajoba’s replies below…

On the result…

It was a good performance from the boys. I am happy. We scored wonderful goals & it was a brilliant evening. It was the perfect response from the URA game. We went back to the drawing board and rectified our mistakes.

On the performance…

In the first half we were kinda shaky but got the momentum back in the second half and then it was our game thereafter. We created chances and we were clinical. Unlike the URA game where we created four good goal scoring chances and converted none.

On Karisa’s contribution...

Karisa is a very good player. He was calm in the right moment, very, very positive-aggressive in the right moments, winning balls, running on his wing and passing balls, turning and creating with that moment. It was a brilliant game for Karisa. He is national team material and l believe he will be back there soon.

In conclusion…

We shall continue working on ourselves, our goal is to win the title. The boys have the attitude, they have the mindset and have to keep the mood they are in now. That’s so important. At the end, we cannot do more than win our remaining games and that’s what we will try do.
