StarTimes Uganda Premier League
Friday’s Result
Vipers SC 1-0 Kyetume FC
The Venoms maintained their four points lead at the top of the table with yet another win at home as the second round of the Uganda Premier League commenced.
Debutant Paul Mucureezi on his reunion with Edward Golola hit the back of the net to give the Venoms a hard earned 1-0 win over Kyetume FC at St Mary’s Stadium.
Victory meant we cemented our summit status moving to 39 points in 16 games played so far.
Here is the manager’s reaction on the game.
On the overall performance…
“I admit we did not play impressively, but I’m happy with the boys, we managed to get the three points.”
On the 3 debutants…
“Jacob Okao played a good game and slotted in well in the absence of Halid Lwaliwa, Mucureezi is already proven, he proved it by scoring the important goal. And for Umar Kyebatala, l can’t judge because he played only 7 minutes, but he is a talented boy and I hope to give him more minutes in due course.”
Closing remarks…
“We have just resumed and the first game isn’t always easy, but expect improvement going forward.”
