Busoga United 0-1 Vipers SC
Halid Lwaliwa hailed a ‘crucial win’ for Vipers SC after his side stole it at the death to defeat Busoga United 1-0 away at the Mighty Arena in Jinja.
For so much of this game it seemed as if we would be frustrated against an obdurate Busoga United side that kept chances to a minimum.
But a determined performance in a high quality contest eventually paid off in the second minute of three added on in the second half when substitute Bobosi Byaruhanga curled a superb effort into the far corner to give Vipers their first win away against Busoga United since 2016.
“It was an amazing win,” the captain told the club website of a result which stretched the team’s unbeaten start to 11 games. “We worked hard for it but deserved it more, l thought.”
“The performance was good and the chances we created were very good though we needed more sharpness infront; the goalkeeper made some top saves. We kept going, showed great mentality and deservedly got the three points.”
Vipers defender, Halid Lwaliwa
“The performance was brilliant for the lads, we deserved the three points and it’s a big win for us”
Vipers had never beaten Busoga United away since they joined the Uganda Premier League during the 2016/17 season on three attempts.
And, just as Vipers expected, Busoga United demanded the very best of the Venoms.
“We know when we come here (the Mighty Arena) it’s not easy and they put on good performances always but they have good players, and on their day they can beat anybody,” said the skipper.
“We knew that, we had to be prepared for that and we were. We kept going right until the end and thankfully, we got the three points.”
The Venoms return to action on Tuesday (November 5) against Wakiso Giants FC at St Mary’s Stadium – Kitende.

Humbly with all maximum respect to Dr mulindwa Lawrence, he should invest in some money to our lovely coach Edward golola for Germany coaching courses such that he gain value because he is a good coach you know instead of bringing foreign coaches which is wastage and resources but if we are to go to take off stage and we go to sustainable development
