StarTimes Uganda Premier League
Tomorrow (November 2)
Busoga United v Vipers SC
The Mighty Arena, 4pm

Having had a fine show in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) so far, Edward Golola’s Venoms are in for yet another stern test where their credentials will be probed by a stubborn and improved opponent.

Vipers visit Busoga United at the Mighty Arena on Saturday evening with an aim of maintaining their decent run.

Golola has led his team to 7 victories and 3 draws from 10 games and sit top of the 16-team log with 24 points.

Meanwhile, the hosts have fared well too; they come into this game with their heads high having won 3 of their last games.

They have beaten Express, Police and Proline and have only failed to score against KCCA and Onduparaka in Jinja hence Vipers resilience will be checked again having fought off a hard fighting Kyetume FC earlier on Tuesday at Namboole stadium.

The Venoms last three visits to Kirinya Jinja (now Busoga United) have been filled with frustrations only; they are yet to register a win as seen below.

Last meetings away:
2016-17: Busoga Utd 1- 0 Vipers
2017-18: Busoga Utd 1-1 Vipers
2018-19: Busoga Utd 2-2 Vipers

Can Vipers break this poor record away against Busoga United?

In fact a win for us on Saturday will be a huge boast and will also consolidate our position on the summit.

Team News:

Coach Edward Golola is expected to ring some changes in his squad on Saturday.

Innocent Wafula is ruled out with a dead leg he suffered on the match day against Kyetume. His return date is not yet known.

Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye is yet to recover from a bout. He will also miss his second straight game after making his last appearance against Onduparaka.

Dan Sserunkuma was on target against Busoga United in our 2-2 stalemate last season and is expected to partner Fahad Bayo on the attacking line again.

Rahmat Ssenfuka returns to the match day squad after being dropped against Kyetume FC.

Brian Nkuubi was unused substitute against ‘The Slaughters’ but could feature against Busoga United. The midfielder last played in our barren draw with Onduparaka.

Abraham Ndugwa will be subjected to a late fitness test to determine his availability.
