Bayo, Halid named in Cranes squad for Afcon qualifiers

Our skipper Halid Lwaliwa and lethal striker Fahad Aziz Bayo have been named in Cranes’ provisional squad for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Malawi.

The duo was part of the provisional squad named by head coach John McKinstry on Wednesday at Fufa House, Mengo.

The team summoned has only five locally based players and Bayo leads the cast given his form in the league.

The on form striker has scored seven goals in the league and currently leads the scoring charts. He has been in fine form since joining us at the start of the season from Zambia’s Buildcon FC.

Both Bayo and Lwaliwa have been part of Cranes recent engagements including the CHAN qualifiers where the former scored as Uganda outwitted Burundi 6-0 on aggregate.

The Cranes will start the qualifying campaign away to Burkina Faso on November 13 and host Malawi four days later at Mnadela National stadium, Namboole.
