Tuesday’s Result
Vipers SC 2-1 BUL FC
Vipers Sports Club ascended to the summit of the league table following a 2-1 win against BUL FC on Tuesday at St. Mary’s stadium.
A spirited performance guided us to victory sending the team top of the table on 20 points thanks to goals from Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye and Allan Kayiwa.
Coach Edward Golola praised the players for the display against the Jinja based outfit and indicated he wants the team to keep momentum.
Below is an extract of what the coach said in the post-match press briefing.
On the performance of the team…
“It is an important win for us as a team and gives us confidence in our pursuit to win this season’s league title. I was impressed with the boys because they were able to win the game against a tough team.”
“The boys fought hard to make sure we got three points, a result that sends us top of the table. We want to keep this good form and the momentum ahead of our next games.”
On Zaga starting and scoring…
“Frank Tumwesigye alias Zaga is one of the best midfielders in the country and he is one of our important players. We believe he has come of age and ready to deliver if given chance like he did today.”
On the manner of the goal Zaga scored…
“I’m not surprised because we train those things. Him being short does not matter because he knew where to go and he was in position to head home from the corner. Scoring a goal definitely will give him confidence to play better and fight for a position in the starting team.”
On the Onduparaka game…
“We shall of course change our approach because Onduparaka is a different team with different tactics. Today we played a physical opponent so we had to adjust accordingly. It is always not easy to visit Green Light stadium but we have enough time between now and Saturday to see how we go about this game.”
On Tito Okello’s absence…
“I don’t want to change a winning team, so he has to step up more in training and the friendlies. He is definitely a good player but there is stiff competition for numbers because we have a good squad.”

the only thing my best coach has remained to do is to remove sserukuma from that wing either he shift Abraham Ndungwa their then (a combination of Abraham Ndungwa, Fahad bayo and Allan KayiwA) then midfield setamu/rahmat, they can share that place then Boobos the waited funs player strictly from juniors league he should cover on either wings the space left by fullbacks either Aziz or Willa the same thing to shiraf mugume if is given a chance so a shiraf mugume and Boobos to share that number now watambala and Zaga also they share that number now on defense where vipers sports club ever had the best best center backs halid lwalilwa, Asiku, Godfrey wasswa and promoted players Akoa and others so molondo, toha Abo batundibwe because Abo Dr mulindwa Lawrence babamuletera balireko sente nze but they will not succeed in Kitende,/vipers so my last advice to coach let team play with intensity why because when you look at game /football In(supl). Speed eliwansi nnyo so twoogeremu speed then we antertain with passing because we have many ball players Second he should not choose the line up under any official ‘s pressure weather Dr himself don’t don’t just prove nti we shall win the league and we shall “one team one dream “. I shalt coach Edward golola and the technical director “thax
