Vipers SC v BUL FC

St Mary’s Stadium, 4pm

It will be a clash of the titans tomorrow (Tuesday, October 22, 2019) as Vipers host Bul FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in a top of the table clash.

The Venoms are the only unbeaten side while Bul are the most in form team in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL).

A battle is sure expected, with a home win guaranteed to see Vipers SC leapfrog the visitors on the table.

The hosts had quite an easy day in the office in the previous game, beating Express 3-0 with Fahad Bayo netting a brace and Brian Kalumba adding the other goal.

Edward Golola will rely on Bayo in attack. The striker scored for the national team over the weekend in their CHAN qualifier against Burundi.

He also leads the scoring charts in the league with six goals. Interestingly all his goals were scored at home.

However, Golola will equally have to put his defence right. Vipers have conceded four goals in seven games and will have more work to do in keeping Bul’s marksman Robert Mukongotya at bay.

Team News:

Vipers welcome back Allan Kayiwa who missed the previous match while on national duty away in Ethiopia.

Karim Watambara picked a knock in practice and will have to undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability.

Siraje Ssentamu is fit and after shaking off an injury that subsequently saw him miss the games against Police and Express FC.

Geofrey Wasswa, Ashraf Mugume and Henry Kitegenyi are still waiting for their first appearances this season.

Innocent Wafula resumed training with the rest of the team late and remains doubtful.

Halid Lwaliwa, Paul Willa, Dan Sserunkuma and Fahad Bayo are also back from national duty having helped Uganda Cranes book a berth at the 2020 Chan Cameroon tournament.

🗣 The Coach’s Word

“We expect a very tough game. BUL FC are in great shape, a good club with amazing players but we hope to win tomorrow. It’s going to be tough but we are ready.”
