Vipers Sports Club duo of Allan Kayiwa and Dan ‘Muzeyi’ Sserunkuma have been nominated in the 2019 Fufa awards.

The confirmation came through on Wednesday during the launch of the annual awards designed to celebrate Uganda’s most excelling footballers in a particular year.

Kayiwa who joined us at the start of the season from Tooro United FC had a wonderful performance last season and has carried on with the same displays in the games played so far.

The talented winger has been a regular on the national team since joining us and believes this recognition motivates him to work harder.

“It is always good for a player’s efforts to be recognised and I believe this nomination will motivate me to work harder.”

The other Venom on the short list is striker Sserunkuma who has been a key figure since joining us from Express FC in 2017. The duo will contend for the coveted accolade with nine other players from other teams.

It should be noted that our former player Moses Waiswa who currently plies his trade in Super Sport FC (South Africa) won the award last year.

Striker Muhammad Shaban had won it in 2016 while another former Venom Farouk Miya now in Turkey at Konyaspor won the inaugural edition in 2015.
