Wednesday’s Result

Police FC 1-3 Vipers SC

Vipers Sports Club staged a spirited comeback to overcome Police FC in a league game played on Wednesday at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

Despite conceding midway from a Hood Kaweesa header through the first stanza, a goal apiece from right back Paul Willa, skipper Halid Lwaliwa and enterprising midfielder Abdu Karim Watambara helped us to secure maximum points.

Coach Edward Golola heaped praise on the players for showing character and staging a comeback to win the game.

About the game as a whole…

“The boys showed character, fighting spirit and maturity to come from a goal down and win the game with a good margin.”

“It is always important to show the never die character and I’m happy that they remained composed even after going down and that helped us.”

About Police FC

“They are a good team that plays good football, but overall we handled them well despite them taking the lead. Police FC had a couple of chances but we remained calm and composed.”

About the team selection

“I don’t expect to make a lot of changes to the team because changing a lot means they will lose coordination.”

The Venoms return to action on Saturday afternoon at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende against Express FC.
