Bayo lands Premier League POTM award

Striker Fahad Aziz Bayo has been named the best player in the Uganda Premier League for the month of September.

The robust forward who has been an important figure since his arrival at St. Mary’s stadium was handed the accolade on Monday in a function held at Kati Kati restaurant in Kampala.

To win the coveted Pilsner Lager sponsored award that came with a cash prize of she:1,000,000/= (one million shillings), Bayo beat competition from David Owori (SC Villa) and Steven Dese Mukwala (loanee to Maroons FC).

It should be noted that both Owori and Mukwala have connections to Vipers SC with the latter on loan at Maroons FC.

Bayo scored three goals and made two assists in September to help the team garner seven points in the first three league games.

In our first league game, Bayo did not get on the clean sheet but made two assists in the 3-1 win against Bright Stars FC.

He opened his league account against Tooro United FC in the 1-0 win before he added a brace against Mbarara City FC.

In total, Bayo has scored six goals in as many games since his arrival from Zambia’s Buildcon.
