Edward Golola was fairly satisfied with our display as we drew 0-0 with SC Villa on Wednesday night.

Afterwards, our head coach faced the press and also spoke to Vipers Media about the game, the inconsistency, Karim Watambara and more. This is what he said:

On the game…
“We wanted to win because we were thinking it was a very good opportunity to get the three points but after the 90 minutes, I think that result is fair for both. There were plenty of things and that result can be a good point if we win on Saturday against Proline FC at home.”

“But really, the positive things, we are going to analyse that, but there are things to improve. Also some players took one step more ahead, as with Watambara. Defensively as a team I think we were better competitively in the match and offensively in some moments, maybe we could do better and create more chances.”

Chances for Venoms…
“I think that we deserved more. I would have liked to have won the game and played better in some phases of the game. We did a lot of good things, and could have scored goals, but we need to keep improving – there is no doubt about that. We need to keep working in a normal way and try to improve everything that we can.”

The first half…
“We struggled a little with getting into the game, and it wasn’t the start that we wanted. We improved later on, and had good phases of play. I think that we deserved more than a draw.”

Inconsistency…
“We would like to be more consistent, but it’s something that we’re working on. It’s not easy to achieve it so quickly. The effort from the players makes us believe that we will take less time to find it, as they are showing their professionalism.”

On Watambara’s display…
“I think he’s working and improving, being mature and also playing matches in front each player and each team as we played. But his work is natural and he is improving. Remember it was his first League game since bounicing back from a shoulder injury. We are going to work with him with calm, with patience, but if he deserves to take minutes and to take confidence for helping us with his performance, that is fantastic for us.”

  1. I think the coach should allow every player to play in his position because at point we understood that villa was not a physical game so he could have brought in rahmat ssefuka for setamu, you switch sserukuma for Allan Kayiwa we could be shaking because we are title contentals but golola should understand that wasswa bossa is facing for that position and once again Mike mutebi
