Uganda Premier League

October 2nd, Namboole Stadium

SC Villa v Vipers SC

As we continue to fine tune for our upcoming Uganda Premier League visit to Namboole against SC Villa on October 2nd, here is the latest update on the injuries from St Mary’s stadium.

Henry Kitegenyi is back to full training after recovering from a knock that subsequently saw him miss the 2-2 stalemate with Mbarara City FC last weekend.

The striker played atleast for 60 minutes in the 1-1 draw friendly match with Busiro FC on Thursday morning.

Zaga is yet to feature for the Venoms in any of their last 3 league games following a hamstring injury he suffered as Vipers defeated KCCA 2-0 in the Pilsner Super 8 finals played at Wankulukuku last month.

Frank Zaga Tumwesigye began light training on the sidelines under the close monitoring of the team physiotherapist Mathius Kasagga.

The creative midfielder’s situation is promising though whether he will feature against the Jogoos remains unclear.

Goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora is ready for selection after recovering from a fever that kept him out of the encounter against Mbarara City FC.

Former Raja Casablanca striker Shaban Muhammed is training with his teammates and can’t wait to make his debut for Vipers.

In the same vein, versatile player Geoffrey Wasswa is getting closer to making his first appearance this season since undergoing surgery on his left knee in June.

Wasswa played some minutes in the friendly against Busiro. His progress continues to be monitored and a decision on when he will be fielded in a competitive match will soon be made.

Finally, Allan Kayiwa regrouped with his teammates after being left out from the national team and now turns his focus on the upcoming club engagements.
