Fahad Bayo was twice on target for the Venoms on Saturday afternoon – but felt that we deserved more from the game against Mbarara City FC at St Mary’s Stadium.
Our new signing from Zambia’s Buildcon FC who has five goals so far this season (3 League and 2 Pilsner Super 8 goals) spoke to Vipers media after the game, and this is what he told the club website.
on whether a draw is a good result after being 1-0 down…
Yes, l think so. In the first half l think we maybe deserved to score two goals, but we went down before the breather then. We’re not happy with that, but we did a great job in the second half and played well in a tough game. We deserved more.
on whether Mbarara’s goals were preventable…
Yes, l think so. I think after Mbarara scored in the first 20 minutes of the game we started to put on the pressure and we tried to push alot before half time. But in the second half we had some chances and l scored twice. I think we had the space to score a third one when Abraham Ndugwa came on and a fourth one through Brian Nkuubi, but as l have said, it was a tough game so it is a draw.
on Willa and Sserunkuma’s pass for his goals…
They were great passes from both Paul Willa and Dan Sserunkuma. For Willa, he just looked at me and knew that I’m going to run, so the ball was perfect. The same with Sserunkuma’s cross that l headed in. I have to say the goals happened because of those two passes.
on if he prefers playing through the middle and wings…
Yes, like l said when joining Vipers SC, l like to play as a striker, but when they need me on the wing, no matter what l will go there and l will try my best to create for my teammates.
