Vipers Sports Club secured the second win of the season in as many games overcoming Tooro United FC at St. Mary’s stadium on Tuesday.
Striker Fahad Bayo scored the vital goal for the Venoms to see off the resilient visitors. Despite ending the game with a player less following the sending off of left back Farouk Musisi Kizito, the team showed character to go ahead and secure all three points.
Assistant coach Richard Wasswa commended the players for showing character even when they went a man down.
“I am happy that we showed character even when we played a man less for a long time in the second half. It was never an easy match given the fact that both clubs had won their respective first matches but I’m happy that we got the result we wanted.”
Vipers SC Assistant Coach, Richard Wasswa
Wasswa was in charge following the absence of head coach Edward Golola who is down with Malaria. He indicated the team is in a rebuilding process and hoping for improvement in the next games.
“The team building process continues as we look forward the rest of the matches in the league. I thank the players and our fans for the home victory”
Vipers SC leads the league table on six points in two games.
