Ssentamu Siraje has returned for a second spell with us, two years after leaving to play for league rivals Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC).
The midfielder has agreed a two-year deal on his return to Kitende, where he will play next season.
Ssentamu won 3 titles, the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup and the Fufa Super Cup with the Venoms in his first spell between 2013-2017 before he left to play for the tax collectors.
He left Vipers at the start of the 2017-18 season following the expiry of his contract and opted to seek a new challenge.
The combative holding midfielder was one of the best players last season at URA where he helped them finish in the top five following an initial dismal performance in the opening round.
He further displayed a man of the match performance in both league encounters between Vipers and Sam Ssimbwa’s side last season.
The former St Mary’s student was unveiled to his follow teammates before training and is best known for his high rhythm of work and combativeness as well as discipline.
Upon his return, he said, “It feels good to be back home. I have come to work, win and further my career.”
The soft spoken player is our third acquisition and will give the technical team more options in the already competitive midfield.
The Venoms’ squad is being shaped to favourably challenge for glory in the coming campaign after failing to win any silverware in the previous season.
