Paul Willa has joined Vipers Sports Club on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee from Police football club.
The 19 year-old, who skippered Police FC last season and made impressive performances in the Cops jersey becomes the second add on for the Venoms this transfer window following the arrival of Allan Kayiwa from Tooro United FC.
The player was with no doubt one of the most consistent right backs, not only for Police but in the league as a whole making him a subject of interest from various clubs.
Willa could not hide the joy on joining the Venoms and had this to say upon his unveiling to his teammates by head coach Michael Nam Ouma.
“I am extremely happy to be here,” he said. “I will give all for my team. My objective is always to win and am sure this is the perfect place and time to make this happen.”
Willa succeeded Rahmat Ssenfuka as the Cops captain after the former switched to Kitende at the start of the 2018-19 season but the pair has been reunited again at Vipers.
The right back joins Juma Balinya among others who have left Abdullah Mubiru’s side already to ply their trade elsewhere.
He is expected to compete with Burundian Karim Niyizigimana at right back for a number in Ouma’s starting eleven.
Vipers began their pre season preparations last week and we expect to make a few more changes in the squad to get the best out of the 2019/20 campaign.
