Ndejje University JT 0-3 Vipers JT

The Juniors recovered from their away loss to Maroons JT with a convincing win over Ndejje University JT.

Vipers JT showed intent from the beginning as they created chance after chance testing Ndejje goalkeeper Komakech during the opening 15 minutes with Ivan Asaba, Andrew Kawooya, and striker Sam Ssenyonjo coming close on multiple occasions.

Mugolofa Mutwalib was also tested as he had to make two wonderful saves to deny the hosts from breaking the deadlock when they were looking dangerous on the counter.

Kawooya hit the cross bar with a long shot from a distance while Asaba couldn’t find the net after dribbling past the Ndejje Goalkeeper. Ssenyonjo also failed to capitalise on a number of rebounds until the 42 minute when Asaba played him through to easily slot past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 for the Venoms.

Eight minutes into the second half, Ssenyonjo again tapped in substitute Sula Mpanga’s cross to make it 2-0 and a brace for him on an afternoon where the Venoms dominated proceedings.

In the 65th minute, Ivan Asaba collected the ball from the midfield, made a wonderful run and hit a long shot from outside the area to make it 3-0 for Vipers JT. He was later replaced by defender Kato Derrick after a dangerous collision that rendered him unable to proceed.

Right back Jjagwe Musa who has been out since last season due to injury also got a cameo appearance with 2 minutes left to play.

The young Venoms face URA FC JT next at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday in their first game of the third round. They head into the next round just a point below table leaders KCCA SA.
