StarTimes Uganda Premier League:
Saturday, May 3rd
Vipers SC V BUL FC
St. Mary’s Stadium (4:00PM)
We will finish second on the Uganda Premier League table after losing the title race to rivals KCCA FC and will miss a chance to represent Uganda in continental club competitions next season.
Though the Venoms have done themselves few favours over the last two games. We come into this match having to play for home pride and also completing a double over Bul FC.
Despite losing their last game at the St Mary’s stadium, confidence is likely to be in high especially after beating Police FC and Paidha Black Angels in their previous two outings.
Like Vipers, Bul has nothing plenty to play for especiallyafter beating Mbarara City to go into top five, winning a second straight game would be a bonus for Peter Onen’s charges.
Michael Nam Ouma’s boys thumped their opponent 3-1 in Njeru with Dan Sserunkuma, Duncan Sseninde and Tito Okello getting on the score sheet and a repeat of this performance is what the coach will be demanding from his side.
An entertaining game and victory is what the fans will be expecting from the hosts who squandered their chance of retaining the title against sides such as Ndejje University, SC Villa and URA who beat them besides the unconvincing stalemates with Mbarara City, Tooro United, Kirinnya Jinja and Express FC.
Team News:
Aziz Kayondo has had a sublime debut season for the Venoms, however the youthful left back is with the St Mary’s Kitende School team preparing for the National Post Primary Schools football competitions.
Yayo Lutimba will start at left back after playing a whole 90 minutes against Paidha on Wednesday.
Bobos Byaruhanga is also with the school team like Kayondo and will be absent.
Rahmat Ssenfuka is unavailable with an injury he picked last week implying Tadeo Lwanga or Ibrahim Tembo will play the holding midfield role.
Brian Nkuubi who has scored twice in the last three games will keep his place in the creative midfield.
Moses Waiswa, Geofrey Wasswa and Halid Lwaliwa are out with injuries as well.
Abraham Ndugwa, Tito Okello and Joseph Janjali could feature for Ouma’s side to help the team on the striking line.
