Vipers Sports Club will have a big representation at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations that gets underway on Sunday in Tanzania.

Four players from our junior team are part of the final Uganda Cubs players that will make their first appearance at the tournament.

The quartet includes Gavin Kizito Mugweri who is the captain of the team.  He was part of the team during the qualifiers last year. Midfielder Andrew Kawooya and forwards Najib Yiga and Ivan Asaba are also on the team. 

Uganda is in group A alongside hosts Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola. The Cubs will start their campaign on Sunday against Angola.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the U17 World Cup that will be hosted by Brazil later this year.
