StarTimes Uganda Premier League
KCCA FC v Vipers SC
Lugogo | Thursday | 4PM
Following a two days break off due to the Fufa Drum tournament where almost the entire Vipers squad was summoned to different provinces, training resumed today in preparation for the remaining six StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches starting with a must win fixture away to KCCA FC at Lugogo on Thursday.
The league defending champions face a decisive run during the month of April, with four mouth watering encounters which will make or break the club’s league title ambitions as its the only hope for a silverware after elimination from the Uganda Cup at the hands of Proline FC.
Only 4 points separate the Venoms from table leaders KCCA FC thus still firmly in the hunt for the title, however, with three tough matches on top of another test of big game mettle away to the Kasasiro lads, its a defining April as the race could be decided in this month.
Team fixtures in April:
- KCCA (Away) – SUPL: Thursday 4th April 2019 – 4:00pm Sanyuka TV
- Mbarara City (Away ) – SUPL: Wednesday 10th April 2019 – 4:30pm
- URA (Away) – SUPL: Friday 19th April 2019 – 4:00pm Sanyuka TV
- Police (Away ) – SUPL: Tuesday 23rd April 2019 – 4:00pm – Sanyuka TV
With such a schedule, its set to be a conclusive month for the Venoms as the end of the campaign draws closer and even the pursuit of the league crown grows more intense therefore its going to be a survival for the fittest and a test of will.
However, on a bright note, the injury situation at Kitende continues to improve as Livingstone Mulondo has fully recovered with Bashir Ssekagya together with Geofrey Wasswa as the only long term absentees.
Currently occupying second position on the league log at 48 points, four off the top, the league destiny is not in our hands therefore picking up positive results, will require a mental capacity to cope with the run in that is going to be unremitting until the end.
wish you success on thursday venoms
