StarTimes Uganda Premier League
This Thursday
KCCA FC v Vipers SC
As all focus turns to the do-or-die encounter against KCCA FC on Thursday this week at StarTimes stadium (Lugogo), Vipers SC camp has today got a big boost of the return of solid defender Livingstone Mulondo aka C4 who has been nursing an injury he sustained 2 months ago.
Mulondo featured for more than 45 minutes in today’s team friendly against Econ Soccer Academy at St Mary’s stadium helping the Venoms win 6-0.
The former Kirinya Jinja center back looked immense as usual and unshaken. A great addition to the squad heated up for this weeks big game.
After shaking off the injury, Mulondo now adds up to Vipers defensive options Kenyan tactician Michael Nam Ouma will look up to including Henry Katongole who recently partnered Halid Lwaliwa in the 2-0 win against Maroons FC as well as Ibrahim Tembo who has now been shifted back to his defensive midfield role.
“I feel great to be back and in time to help my team. Since I got injured its been a time of mixed results but the boys have given their best to keep the momentum and pressure up on the table leader. I believe I can play a big part in the remaining few games if am selected by the coaches.”

Also back is goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora who has been away in Burundi with his U-23 side that was eliminated by Congo in the third round of the CAF U-23 Olympics qualifiers and will now have to fight for the first place in goal with Derrick Ochan.
Karim Niyigizimana is also available after helping Burundi to qualify for AFCON 2019 eliminating Gabon and is the other option on the right side long side Ibrahim Kiyemba.
“We are set for Thursday. Time to celebrate qualifying for AFCON is over. We need to fight and get back to the top and that’s why l came back early from National duty”

Meanwhile, in today’s trial match against Eron Soccer Academy, Brian Nkuubi and Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza both scored a brace while Moses Waiswa and Dan Sserunkuuma were the other two on the score sheet.
A win on Thursday will boost Vipers hopes in retaining the title closing the four point gap to one with six games to go in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
