Vipers SC v Bright Stars FC

The anticipated StarTimes Uganda Premier League thriller between defending champions Vipers sports club and ninth placed Bright Stars FC, has been rearranged owing to a Uganda Cup match the Mwererwe based side will be engaged in tomorrow prior to the tie.

According to a communication from the league secretariat, the game is now pushed two days ahead from Wednesday to Friday at St Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

“URA FC will be hosting Bright Stars FC on Monday 18th February 2019 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 at Mandela National stadium Namboole.” reads part of the letter.

Accordingly, SUPL M#153 Vipers Vs Bright Stars that was to be played on Wednesday 20th February 2019, has been rescheduled to Friday 22nd February 2019 to allow Bright Stars recovery time, venue & kick off time remain the same.”

This is going to be Vipers fifth encounter in the second round and it comes at a time when the Venoms are struggling for form having failed to win any of the last two league matches against SC Villa and Tooro United respectively.

With this latest development, the rescheduled tie comes three days before Vipers travel to Arua for another clash against Onduparaka at the Greenlight stadium to wind up the month of February fixtures.

Vipers currently lie in second position on the top flight league table on 38 points a whopping 6 behind leaders KCCA FC with 11 matches to the end of the league.

Its therefore a must win encounter if the Venoms are to retain the title.
