Vipers Sports Club has been pitted against Fufa Big League outfit Kiboga Young in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 draws held on Wednesday.
The Venoms who are seeking to lift the annual knockout competition for the second time will be at home to Kiboga Young FC.
It should be noted that even at the round of 32, Vipers SC faced another Big League entity Kansai Plascon at home a game which we won comfortably 4-0.
Abraham Ndugwa (brace), Halid Lwaliwa and an own goal by Desmond Kyobe guided us past Kansai Plascon.
The Venoms reached the final last year but lost to KCCA FC and the target this time round will be to go all the way and claim the title.
Head coach Michael Nam Ouma believes this is a chance for the team to get silverware and thus will treat the game against Kiboga Young FC with full commitment.
“This is a knockout competition that always comes with surprises. Therefore we shall not look down on our opponents because they play in a lower division.”
Michael Nam Ouma, Vipers SC tactician
“It’s a chance for us to win this Cup and we must show commitment throughout if we are to achieve our target.” added Ouma after the draw.
The exact date for the fixture is yet to be confirmed but Fufa has gazetted between 14th – 19th February 2019.
