Vipers Sports Club is set to make changes in their squad that will be used till the end of this season.

The reigning league champions will let their midfielder Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye to join Express FC on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Zaga made a couple of appearances for the Venoms last season but struggled to break into the main team this season managing just two league appearances under former coach Javier Martinez.

The midfielder is a joy to watch; his ball distribution, mobility and dribbling skills are exceptional and would hurt any opponent without a doubt.

He joined Vipers senior team last season from the club academy, St Mary’s Kitende and helped the Venoms win the 2017-18 Uganda Premier League title.

However, the youthful player has failed to make a mark and challenge fellow midfielders like Moses Waiswa,Tom Masiko, Brian Nkuubi, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Duncan Sseninde and Abraham Ndugwa.

On that background, coach Michael Nam Ouma believes it will be a disservice to keep him yet his chances would be limited.

Tumwesigye will join the Red Eagles where he is expected to have more playing time and revive his form and if he impresses will return next season.

Meanwhile, the Kitende-based side has also decided not to renew left back Aggrey Madoi’s contract after it expired.

Madoi joined Vipers from Fufa Big League outfit Jinja Municipal Council (JMC Hippos) in 2015/16 season.

He went out on loan to Police FC before returning to Kitende last August.

He has been linked with a move to Tusker FC from Kenya among other clubs thus the club has agreed to let him join any club of his choice.

Davis Kasirye

In the same vein, the Venoms through their technical director Eddie Butindo this afternoon announced the release of Ndizeye Sefu, Dickens Okwir, Fred Okot, Davis Kasirye and Noah Wafula. All five will go out on loan.

While meeting the players after training Butindo said, “Vipers has decided to let these players go on loan to other clubs as we try to shape our squad for the remainder of this season.”

Dickens Okwir

The club will come out with full details once the loan deals for the above players have been secured although Paidha Black Angels and Mbarara City have shown interest in acquiring the services of striker Dickens Okwir.

Vipers want to thank all the players for their services and commitment and wishes them the best in their careers.
