Vipers SC opponents in the Caf Confederation Cup play off encounter Club Sportiff Sfaxien from Tunisia, have arrived in the country ahead of the first leg engagement.
The 39 man delegation comprising of 20 players plus19 officials aboard Fly Emirates flight from Dubai, touched down Entebbe international airport at 1:30pm and after media interviews immediately headed to Lake View Hotel Entebbe where they are accommodated.
Speaking to the media upon arrival, CS Sfaxien Dutch tactician Ruud Josef Krol sounded positive while promising an attacking game though he expressed the artificial turf factor as a disadvantage to them since they play on natural grass and further acknowledged how Vipers will be a tougher opponent being a big club.
“Vipers is a good team and it will be a very difficult match after this long trip from Tunis to Uganda, of course it always has an influence on the physical part of the team and we hope that we have full recovery after the two days rest and we can make a good result here in Uganda,” concluded Krol.
Its Vipers last opportunity in a bid to qualify for the Confederation Cup group stage having scaled down to this round following elimination from the Caf Champions League by Algeria’s CS Constantine.
The match is scheduled to take place at St Mary’s stadium Kitende this Saturday 12th January 2019 at 4:00pm with the return leg a week later on Sunday 20th January 2019 at the stadium in Sfax Tunisia.
Vipers warmed up for this important clash in the club history with a 3-0 demolition of Onduparaka in the Startimes Uganda premier league fixture on Tuesday as they started to address previous woes under Kenyan born Micheal Ouma.

These ones are beatable! Just play a fast paced game and with the 4:00pm sunshine blazing down on them, they will tire quickly!
They are more used to grass and playing at night so purpose to make history against them. They have come with a high-nosed attitude and they must fall!
