Vipers Sports Club confirms that Edward Golola has returned to the club as one of the interim coaches at the club.

Golola who is not new at St Mary’s stadium returns to work after the club relieved Mexican tactician Javier Martinez Espinosa of his duties last week.

The soft spoken coach will be taking charge of the Venoms for his third spell as the assistant coach and upon completing his return, he promised to offer a different approach.

“I’m happy to be back where l belong and l think it it like the beginning of a new period. Do l have a different personality? No, but for sure l have a different approach and perspective.” he said.

The coach believes Vipers SC has always been part of his life and feels he wants to extend his successful journey with the Venoms.

“I am where l want to be because my career has been built and raised on success. I was able to achieve success and win trophies with this team. I have to believe in that. I am back because we feel we are in the best moments though have a little meltdown which we are going to work on and am ready to work together again with anyone to help this club succeed again,” Golola indicated.

Golola has been influential in all the three league titles that Vipers SC has with two coming when he was the head coach (2009/10 and 2014/15) and the other as an assistant to Miguel Da Costa last season.

He will be working closely with Kenyan Michael Nam Ouma, Moses Oloya as the goalkeeping coach, Edward Ssali as the team trainer while Ram Nyakana Mpuga as the strength and conditioning coach.

  1. It is as though, the destiny of Vipers SC and Mr Edward Golola, are intricately intertwined together! Vipers can’t seem to go anywhere without him!

Here is the crux of the matter; Just make him the head coach and we shall know this coaching Hullabaloo is done, dusted and comprehensibly dealt with!

What exactly doesn’t he have to be made head coach? I don’t want the tag ‘xenophobe’, because I believe more in delivering
as opposed to where one actually comes from! But cirumstancial history, and events in the past three above-mentioned ocassions, alude to the fact that all the foreign coaches, under whom he has been assistant, end up leaving and he is consistently there to pick up the broken pieces! Hello!!!! Isn’t there a message; Some sort of codded message, between the lines, that powers that be are not reading correctly? Doesn’t that speak volumes about this so-called quiet man? His works seem to shout out loud!!!

If it is commitment, he has repeatedly demonstrated it! If it is lack of the necessary qualifications and documents, that keep moving him to and fro st Mary’s stadium, then, based on his tract record, just send him on a sabbatical and sort out this coaching mess!

Right now, home grown solutions are what Ugandan football clubs need! As long as players like and understand him, then that’s the way to go!

Remember the stone that the builders reject is always the cornerstone!

All we need is consistency and a positive, results oriented stability in the coaching department In kitende and the football will do the talking!

I await your arrival Mr Edward Golola!

  2. My dream is to join vipers sc, but I really don’t know how to do it bcoz all the paths are blocked
