Vipers Sports Club round of 64 Uganda cup engagement against Rusekere Growers from Fort Portal was aborted after the visiting team didn’t turn up.
The Venoms had left no stone unturned in preparation for the fixture as they entered camp yesterday to avoid any mishaps.

This development simply implies Vipers are as good as through to the round of 32 only awaiting the Fufa competitions committee to formally declare a verdict basing on the cup regulations.

Fufa referees who were assigned to officiate the match went through the mandatory inspection process on the home team as Rusekere was a no show.
They included Richard Kimbowa as the center referee while Marex Nakitto and Okello Lee as the first and second assistants respectively together with George Wamala Katumba as the match commissioner.

Such incidents undermine the competition status on top of tainting the sponsors image hence the organizers need to rethink their strategies in order to protect the game.
Our focus now turns to the next StarTimes Uganda Premier League match against Tooro United on Dec, 29 at St Mary’s stadium.
