Vipers Sports Club dream of playing in the the lucrative Caf Champions League group stages ended on Saturday as we lost to Algeria’s CS Constantine 2-0 on the day to bow out 3-0 on aggregate.
It was a disappointing afternoon for the club as fans endured frustrating moments which eventually forced them to walk out of the stadium as early as the 70th minute once the Algerians scored a second goal to completely extinguish our candle in the competition.
Despite the setback, all is not lost as the Venoms scaled down to Caf Confederations Cup playoff round where the next opponents will be determined by a draw.
This development provides the Uganda Premier League champions a continental opportunity to play in the Confederations cup group stages and success over both legs at the play-off round earns the victors a whopping two hundred seventy five thousand US dollars ($275000) cash prize.
